Risky Business on Substack
I booked an exhibition slot before I’d painted a single piece.
Not only that, I had the completely unhinged notion of creating around twenty brand new paintings in eighteen months, an entirely new body of work, and completely different from what I’d been making before....
Brigid at LØRE Gallery - Scotland
Just in time for Imbolc and for the next wee while, Brigid is hanging out at LØRE Gallery in Forres, Scotland under the curation of Dræyk van der Hørn. She is accompanied by a gathering of Norse, Celtic and Pictish inspired creations.
The Gallery is open Friday and Saturdays - more info on their website: https://www.lore.scot/
A sign in disguise on Substack
“I want some confirmation. And that confirmation should be a butterfly.”
But not just any butterfly I wanted a swallowtail butterfly. Now, I knew the chances of seeing a random living butterfly were fairly high, but a swallowtail? That’s different. They were part of my childhood in Norfolk, and though they can be spotted on the Broads, I never actually saw one. Now in Scotland, well they don’t appear up here. It’s way beyond their range.
And then…I forgot all about it.
